August Update

Sorry for the delay in the update- I wanted to wait until I had the team shop under control. Anyway, lots of updates this month!

Monthly Challenge:
August’s theme is “Olympics”- you can take that to mean sports, China, patriotic, unity, anything you’d like it to mean! Be sure to tag your challenge items with “augustchallenge” as well as the usual “EtsyFAST team” (without the quotes, of course).

Featured Members:
I’m going to keep posting team member interviews for as long as I keep getting them. Info and the questions can be found in this thread in the yahoo group. Just send your answers (and a picture or two if you’d like) to me at merigreenleaf[at]yahoo.com (or send a convo to merigreenleaf on Etsy), and I’ll post them in the order I receive them. This is great way to get to know everyone!

Team Tag:
Don’t forget that the new tag has the word “team” in it! There are still more items tagged with the old “EtsyFAST” tag than the current, correct tag of “EtsyFAST team”. Please change the tag on your items when you get a chance.

Blog Contributions:
We’re still looking for content for the blog. If you’ve got a fiber-related tutorial you’d like to share, or maybe experiences with craft shows, or anything you’d think is helpful, just let me know! Email me (merigreenleaf[at]yahoo.com) or send me a convo and we can either set you up with blog access or I can post the article for you. Also, if anyone has any ideas for the blog, please tell me.

And now a new update!
EtsyFAST shop is opening again!
The EtsyFAST shop is going to have things listed in it again starting this week. I’ve taken over most of the shop responsibility from Jenn and will be in charge of receiving, listing, and mailing out the items that team members supply me with. I apologize to those awesome members who had sent us things for the shop earlier in the year; I promise everything will be listed soon!

If you’d like to send me things that I can add to the shop, that would be awesome. We need two types of things:
-Goodie bag items (examples of these are in the sold page of the shop)
Basically what we need here are little items that you can send multiples of- be it 5, 10, 20, whatever. Yarn samples, buttons, wristbands, pouches, patterns, appliques… Business cards would be great, too! Pretty much anything fiber-related that you can make multiples of. If you can stick them in a baggie with your card or attach a card with your shop name to the items, that would be great and the buyers would know who they came from.

Everyone who contributes something to the goodie bag will have their shop name in the listing.

-Individual items. These are things like you’d sell in your Etsy shop, and you’d only send us one of. When you send these, please include information about it that I can put in the description of the listing, as well as a price for me to list it for. Obviously, you’d be credited in the listing.

The money that is made from shop items will go towards our website hosting, or team advertising (if we do that again), or anything that’s important for the team.

If you want to send something, please email (merigreenleaf[at]yahoo.com) or convo me first so I know to expect it and so I can give you my address (unless you got it in the yahoo group; right now I’m having problems with yahoo groups, so I’m not sure if my messages there are going through).

I also received a whole bunch of postcard-sized FAST advertisement cards from Jenn (they have our team name and website and shop addresses on them). If you’d like a couple of these to send out with things that you sell or to give out at craft shows or whatnot, let me know and I can mail some to you.
