Pittsburgh Tree Sweater Project
I was asked by subu on Etsy to pass along the info about this, and since it sounds like such a neat idea, I am.
If anyone is near Pittsburgh and would like to help with this, please check out the info here.
Inviting All Knitters, Crocheters and Weavers!

The Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh is launching a project for November that will theme public programming at the Museum around knitting, crocheting and weaving. To coordinate with the Mister Rogers’ Sweater Drive, which collects sweaters for needy families in our lobby, we will host a month-long series of knitting/crocheting/weaving workshops for children and create tree sweaters on the trees in front of the Museum. The tree sweaters will be a collaborative art installation by folks all over Pittsburgh.
Here’s how you or your needly network can get involved:
-Bring your colorful, handwoven sweater sections to be incorporated into the tree sweaters. Include playful pockets, buttons, ribbons, whatever you like! Don’t forget a weather-proof tag with the name of the individual or group who made it. Sections should be 4’-4’6” in length to fit the circumference of our trees.
More info can be found here.
